Maybe I'll watch CLOUD ATLAS again; 'was think about it and feel that this could very well win the best picture Oscar for the year.

Waiting to readup on the vfx details in the movie.
If you want to promote yourself as a portfolio site, don't have restriction in terms of the image dimensions and whole lot of steps to post our images. I get frustrated with sites like Behance and CGsociety that pose a lot of rules for us to post images in our own portfolio!!

Fuck you guys.

Return to Friederquad

I had done a speed paint a while back using GIMP, of a place called Friderquad. Recently, when i opened a new division to my personal works called, blkScape, I had this urge to revisit Friderquad in a more elaborate  way. I have tried my hand at matte painting and failed in the past. I want to work on my matte painting skills. So, i started off with this. Call it my first matte painting. I am not happy with this piece.

Have to improve lots.

Going mobile with graphic designs!

Really in awe of mobile sketching apps liks autodesk sketchbook express, sketch free etc.,

I would really like a robust vector graphic creation app with proper eps or ai or cdr an pdf export. That i think, will really pave way the way to the next generation of mobile-anytime-anywhere-working...

Watched it this weekend. It is a magnificant effort. the makeup effects is soooo good. it's very convincing and didn't take me out of the movie. The story is also well woven although on first viewing i wasn't able to get the whole story. The vfx is really great and the concepts quite consistent and believable.

Tom hanks and Halle Berry really carry the movie on their shoulders and they are really good. I mean i actually mistook Tom Hanks for Channing Tatum in the poster doind the rounds!!. He's really good as the gladiator look alike.

Overall, really great effort on all fronts. It's one of those movie one needs to watch alone in a quite room.

Can't say if i liked it or was bored by it's 3hr runtime!! but i'd say that i didn't hate it. Which is more than i can say for many recent releases.

Would like to read the book, for the narration is one of the highlights in this humungous celluloid effort.

Foundry and Luxology merge. Wow! now the possibilities are endless. VFX is going to take a real leap!! John Knoll, god of vfx supervisors, and co-founder of Photoshop was responsible for suggesting the merger. I hear Foundry is also on it's way to creating a photoshop competitor.

Finger's crossed.
